Dr Quazi Islam

MBBS   FCPS   MRCP (UK)   MRCP (Endo & Diab)   FACP

Consultant Physician and Honorary Clinical Associate Professor

I look after adults with diabetes, thyroid, pituitary and adrenal conditions, and general internal medical problems in clinic in Harley Street, by video, and on the wards in central and north London.

Seen quickly

New patients are usually seen within a working week. Urgent referrals within 48 hours.

Insured or self-paying

Recognised and fee-assured with Bupa, Aviva, AXA Health, Allianz, Healix, Vitality and WPA, so there is no shortfall on my fees. If you are paying yourself, you know the fee before you book.

A letter after every visit

Written to you in plain English within three working days and copied to your GP, with a clear list of what happens next.

What I treat

How I work

Most people who come to see me want two things: a clear explanation of what is going on, and a plan they can actually follow.

I write to you after every appointment, in plain English, and copy the letter to your GP. You will know what I found, what we agreed, and what happens next. If I have asked your GP to do something, it is written down so nothing depends on memory.

A first consultation is up to forty-five minutes, because a hormone problem is rarely a five-minute conversation.

Where I consult

Outpatient clinics run at Harley Street, or by telemedicine.

I also look after inpatients at The Princess Grace Hospital and do patient review at the Royal Free Hospital.

My secretary will offer you the soonest appointment that suits you.

Fees

Published so you know the cost before you book. Charges for tests, scans and any hospital stay are billed separately by the hospital.

Self-paying patients Length Fee
First consultation up to 45 minutes £350
Follow-up consultation up to 20 minutes £225
Telemedicine, follow-up up to 20 minutes £225

If you are insured, I am recognised by Bupa, Aviva, AXA Health, Allianz, Healix, Vitality and WPA, and I am fee-assured with them: my fees sit within what your policy allows, so you will not be asked to pay a shortfall on my consultation fees. Any excess on your policy still applies. Please get an authorisation number from your insurer before your appointment.

For referring GPs and colleagues

What you get back

A clinic letter to the patient, copied to you within three working days, with a clear list of anything I am asking you to do.

Advice without a referral

Ring if you would like to talk a case through. Not every question needs an appointment.
